ACT IV　Speaking of Rolls

The Master says,

“A roll.”

One roll crosses the ocean.

Then its name changes.

Yet somehow,

the thing itself remains much the same.

The California Roll spread throughout North America during the 1960s and 1970s.

Its exact birthplace remains debated.

What is certain is that it became a symbol of Japanese food adapting to a new culture.

Today, sushi, rolls, and even onigiri can be found all over the world.
